5.1 Data Controller

The data controller within the meaning of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) is the operator of this website (contact details, see Section 1, Legal Notice). She takes data protection very seriously and treats personal data confidentially and in accordance with applicable data protection laws.

5.2 Contact Form

When you use the contact form, the operator collects the data you enter (name, email address, subject, message) as well as, if you upload one, the file itself. Uploaded files are stored encrypted and used exclusively to process your translation request.

Purpose and Legal Basis: Processing takes place to handle your inquiry and to take steps toward, or perform, a contract (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR). Where no contractual relationship is being initiated, processing is based on the operator's legitimate interest in responding to inquiries (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).

Retention Period: Uploaded files are automatically deleted from the servers 30 days after the finished translation has been provided, and in all other cases no later than 90 days after the inquiry was received. The same applies to inquiries without a file. The remaining data submitted via the contact form is deleted once it is no longer required to process your inquiry, and at the latest after 12 months, unless statutory retention obligations require otherwise. Data is not shared with third parties.

5.3 Server Log Files

When you visit this website, the web server automatically collects information transmitted by your browser, including: IP address, date and time of the request, page requested, amount of data transferred, browser type and version, and operating system used. This data is used exclusively to ensure the secure and reliable operation of the website and is not combined with other data sources.

Legal Basis: Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interest in the secure and reliable operation of the website).

Retention Period: Log files are deleted automatically at regular intervals.

5.4 Your Rights

You have the right to access, correct, delete, or restrict processing of your personal data held by the operator at any time. Please contact the operator at mail@megansparacino.com to exercise these rights.

You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority (Art. 77 GDPR). Generally, the competent authority is that of your habitual residence, place of work, or the place of the alleged infringement. The authority responsible for the operator is:

Data Protection: Data is processed on servers located within the European Union (Spain) in accordance with GDPR requirements. No data is shared with third parties.

Provider: Apple Inc., Cupertino, California, USA
Type of Processing: Receiving and sending emails (iCloud Mail), including inquiries submitted via the contact form
Data Protection: As Apple, a US-based company, may process personal data on servers in the USA and is not certified under the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework (DPF), data transfers are based on EU Standard Contractual Clauses pursuant to Art. 46(2)(c) GDPR.

Data Processing Agreements (DPA) are in place for all data processing activities that comply with GDPR requirements.
